DIRECTORS

David Young:

Rebecca Dempsey: (Assistant Director) has worked with David Young in high-school theater productions since 2002.  She directed The Laramie Project, both as the fall play and as the competitive One Act, and Crimes of the Heart at LNHS; The Laramie Project, Talking With, Clown’s Play, and The Colored Museum at LNS; I Believe In Make Believe for Liberty’s Theatre Company; and An Evening Aboard the Titanic for Corbin Theater Company, for which she also wrote 2 of the 3 acts.   Rebecca wrote, produced, directed, and acted in a children’s play about Aesop’s fables, which she has converted into a touring program as a Teaching Artist with Kansas City Young Audiences.  She also acts in another program and two workshops for KCYA.  Rebecca acts professionally in films, radio and TV commercials, and company training videos, and is a reviewer for KC Stage.  She played the judge in the “Sticky Situations” episode of “High School Stories” on MTV.  Rebecca has acted in or directed more than 95 shows with more than 31 groups since 1993.  Favorite roles include “M’Lynn” in Steel Magnolias; “Kate” in All My Sons; “Hecuba” in The Trojan Women; “Amanda” in The Glass Menagerie; “Meg” in Brigadoon; “Yente” in Fiddler on the Roof; “Dorothea” in  Eleemosynary; ensembles in Godspell and Quilters.
